Mr Wu is a China Specialist based in the firm's Melbourne Office. In conjunction with the technical input from other patent attorneys in the firm he facilitates the effective protection and enforcement of IP rights in Australia on behalf of Chinese companies. He also assists the firm in translating legal and technical documents and developing relations with the firm's Chinese clients.
Mr Wu started his professional career in 1981 after working as a lecturer in the Automation Department of Beijing Polytechnic University. He was one of the earliest staff members of the first patent agency (CCPIT) in China.
After four years experience working with CCPIT, he received high quality in-house training in drafting patent specifications and prosecuting patent applications in the field of electrical engineering at Davies Collison Cave and undertook further advanced studies in Law at Monash and Melbourne Universities between 1986 and 1989.
Mr Wu joined Davies Collison Cave in 1990 working in the patent search area and has gained significant experience and expertise in handling watching services over the past years. In 1995, he was registered by SIPO as a patent attorney in China.
