Chris' major area of practice is intellectual property litigation. He has more than 20 years experience in patent, trade mark, design, copyright, trade practices and confidential information litigation on behalf of both applicants and respondents. He has also acted in patent and trade mark oppositions before IP Australia. Chris joined the firm in 1989, becoming a partner in 2001.

Chris has successfully acted in a number of significant matters before State Courts and the Federal and High Courts, the Administrative Appeals Tribunal as well as the Patent and Trade Mark Office. He has acted on behalf of a range of clients from small local enterprises to large multi-national corporations. In 2013, Chris was listed by Best Lawyers as one of 'Australia's Top Lawyers' in IP Litigation, published in The Australian Financial Review. Chris was nominated for the Guide to the World's leading Trade Mark Law Practitioners 2012, he has also been recommended in the 'The Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2012' rankings and as a leading Victorian IP lawyer in Doyle's Guide 2012. He is also a Vice Chair of the Intellectual Property Committee of the International Bar Association and Chair of the publications sub committee of Intellectual Property Committee of the International Bar Association.
