Cara joined Davies Collison Cave Law in 2011, after completing her Bachelor of Laws (Hons.) and Bachelor of Biotechnology (Hons.), and working as a clerk at DCCL earlier that year.

During her studies in science, Cara majored in biochemistry and her Honours degree focused on the identification of proteins involved in microbial killing in neutrophils.
