Alistair's professional activities focus on drafting and prosecuting patent applications, as well as providing strategy advice to start-up companies. He specialises in patent, design and copyright advice relating to computer software, business methods and electronic devices, including their application to the medical and biotechnology areas.

Alistair also regularly presents seminars advising on issues surrounding obtaining and maximising the value of an intellectual property portfolio. 

Prior to joining Davies Collison Cave he worked in London for a patent attorney firm. Consequently Alistair has significant experience in overseas jurisdictions, including Europe and the US, and the preparation of patent applications to standards required in these countries.
