Rob is involved in drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications, particularly in the field of mechanical engineering but also in the areas of chemical and process engineering. He also handles patent opposition, infringement and validity matters, as well as matters concerning registered designs.

Rob began his working career in the iron ore industry, spending two and a half years in Tom Price, Western Australia, where he worked as a mechanical engineer.

He joined the patent attorney profession in 2000, and spent four and a half years working with a firm in Perth, where he trained and qualified as a patent and trade marks attorney. He then moved to London, where he worked for two and a half years at a firm of European and UK patent attorneys and gained experience in the patent and design systems of Europe and the United Kingdom.
