DCC attends Australian Colloid and Interface Symposium

Tuesday, February 8, 2011

Nicola Lake and Peter Huntsman attended the fifth biennial Australian Colloid and Interface Symposium in Hobart. The five day conference provided an opportunity for both international and local colloid, surface and/or interface scientists to meet and discuss recent developments in their areas of research.

Nicola Lake is well known to the Colloid and Interface community. Many of the conference attendees included professors of academia and peers with whom Nicola studied for her Doctorate.

Davies Collison Cave sponsored a booth and a prize which was presented at the conference dinner. The 2002 Penfolds Grange prize was warmly received by the lucky Professor Derek Chan. Professor Chan is a Professorial Fellow at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics and the Deputy Director of the Particulate Fluids Processing Centre at The University of Melbourne. He also celebrated his 60th birthday at the dinner.
