Susanne is the Manager of the Patent Intelligence Services group who handles all patent and design search related requests including searches for prior art, state of the art, literature reviews, patent or design registration status, infringement risks, freedom to operate, evidence of infringing use, patent invalidity, patent opposition, competitor patent filing trends, patent analytics and chemical or biosequence structure searches. As part of her role, Susanne specialises in conducting comprehensive searches of patent publications and technical literature, as well as providing patent due diligence and competitive intelligence services including patent landscape portfolios. She advises on patentability (novelty), patent infringement, freedom to operate and patent validity issues. As a qualified patent attorney in Australia, Canada and New Zealand, Susanne has considerable experience in searching and analysing a diverse range of innovation to address business concerns.
In June 2014, Susanne was appointed as the Co-Editor-in-Chief of World Patent Information, the pre-eminent peer reviewed journal of the global patent information industry. She is also a former President of the Patent Information Users Group (PIUG) which is the International Society for Patent Information. Susanne is recognized by her international peers for her extensive knowledge and proactive initiatives as a patent information specialist and has been invited to speak on a number of occasions at international IP events in Australia, Europe and the United States.
