Sam is a member of our Life Sciences team in Sydney. Prior to joining DCC, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Neuroscience Research Australia in Sydney for seven years, specialising in molecular and cellular neuropathologies in mental illness.
She has a strong background in cellular and molecular biology and techniques, with experience in cloning, RNA and protein isolation and detection, next generation sequencing, cell culture, and postmortem tissue work.
Sam graduated with Honours from the University of Tasmania in 2003, majoring in Biochemistry and Microbiology. She was subsequently awarded her PhD in 2008, with a project exploring the trophic properties of an endogenous astrocytic protein on the growth and regeneration of neurons.
