Julian deals with a full range of patent matters, including drafting, opposition work and advice on infringement and validity, in the areas of materials science, metallurgy and industrial chemistry. He has demonstrable experience handling a range of technologies from fuel cells to explosives.
Julian studied Natural Sciences at St. Catharine's College, Cambridge University, specialising in Materials Science and Metallurgy. After university Julian joined the patent profession with a London-based firm where he qualified as a U.K. Chartered Patent Agent and European Patent Attorney. He worked there for 10 years, including a period of secondment working as an in-house patent attorney at a fuel and lubricant additives company.
Julian came to Australia and joined Davies Collison Cave in 2000, becoming a partner in 2005.
