Damon has extensive experience as a patent attorney and specialises in a range of engineering-related sectors, including clean technologies, mechanical and engineering sciences, medical devices, mining, automotive, manufacturing and physics. He has been successfully representing local and international clients for over 20 years, advising on IP strategy and crafting patent protection for businesses ranging from start-ups through to multinational corporations.
Damon is actively involved in a number of start-up ventures and is a member of Sydney Angels, a group that invests in innovative early-stage companies with high growth potential, providing an opportunity to support entrepreneurs and the early-stage ecosystem as a whole.
Damon is also an active member of AIPPI, an international intellectual property organisation that reviews and investigates international hot topics in IP, analyses differences between IP laws in different jurisdictions and promotes harmonisation of those laws.
Damon works from the Sydney and Newcastle offices as well as being Lead Partner for Davies Collison Cave's Parramatta office.
Damon has contributed articles to various publications including Computer Patent Annuities Global, Hunter Business Review, Western Sydney Business Access and Manufacturers Monthly.
