Brett specialises in domestic and international trade mark law and manages the trade mark portfolios of numerous local and overseas clients. He handles local and international trade mark clearance projects, trade mark registrations and trade mark disputes including opposition proceedings and disputes involving trade mark infringement, passing off and breaches of the consumer protection provisions of the Australian Consumer Law.
Brett joined the firm in 1991 and became a Partner in 1996. He has extensive experience in all aspects of trade mark law and practice and is a member of various professional bodies. He is a member of the International Trade Mark Committee of Fédération Internationale des Conseils en Propriété Industrielle (FICPI) and represents FICPI Australia in the Trade Mark & Design Consultation Group meetings with IP Australia .
