The PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty) Wheel was devised and designed by John Hughes and Karen Yields on behalf of DCC in 1993. It has been adopted by the World Intellectual Property Office and the Australian Patent Office.
The Wheel is a simple tool for checking due dates for priority documents, filing demand and entering a national or regional phase 20 or 30 months from a chosen priority date. The Wheel has been patented in the US and is also the subject of a US Design Registration. Versions of the Wheel have also been printed in Chinese and Japanese. The Wheel is updated each June and sent to more than 15,000 DCC clients annually. The PCT Wheel is also available online.
