IP Litigation Lawyer (4 to 5 years experience) – Melbourne Office

Davies Collison Cave Law’s intellectual property law group provides expert advice in the areas of intellectual property and trade practices litigation and dispute resolution and commercialisation.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Intellectual Property Litigator with 4 to 5 years experience to join our litigation team.  The successful candidate will have experience in all areas of intellectual property litigation including conducting litigation in the Federal and Supreme Courts. 

The firm offers a friendly, flexible and progressive work environment within a professional team. 

As a member of the litigation team, you will assist a wide range of Australian and overseas clients with all types of intellectual property litigation and dispute resolution covering all areas of IP. You will also assist the trade mark and patent groups of Davies Collison Cave, patent and trade mark attorneys in disputes in the pre-litigation stage through to trial.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Laws and admitted to practice
  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in science or engineering would be beneficial but is not essential
  • 4 to 5 years Litigation (preferably intellectual property litigation) experience

Patent Attorney (Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Polymers) – Melbourne Office

Qualifications and Experience:

  • current registration as an Australian Patent Attorney or approaching completion of studies towards registration
  • a bachelor's degree and PhD
  • post-doctoral experience preferred
  • expertise in materials science and/or chemical engineering
  • expertise in polymer science essential

Your day to day work will be under the supervision of an experienced patent attorney and will involve all aspects of private patent attorney practice, including liaising with inventors and corporate clients, drafting patent specifications, conducting searches, providing patentability, patent infringement, and patent validity opinions, providing opinions and prosecuting patent applications.

You will work closely with partners to develop your skills and establish relationships with clients.
