What are we looking for?

We are looking for mature and professional students with strong academic results who have a genuine interest in specialising in intellectual property law.  An undergraduate or graduate degree in science or engineering would be beneficial but is not essential.
In addition to your academic qualifications, to be successful in a career as an Intellectual Property Lawyer with Davies Collison Cave Law, you need to be:

  • An excellent communicator with a strong command of the English language;
  • Self-motivated and pro-active;
  • Committed to providing quality advice and service at all times;
  • Able to readily assimilate and critically analyse information and to think laterally;
  • Able to clearly and concisely communicate in writing with a high attention to detail;
  • Able to prioritise and meet deadlines; and
  • A team player who is willing and able to work with and assist others.

What do we offer?

Graduates will benefit from direct supervision by partners and senior practitioners across a multitude of disciplines including contract law, administrative law, specific intellectual property regimes, litigation, commercialisation and licensing.  Graduates will also have the opportunity to take on significant levels of responsibility, and will form part of a team responsible for protecting the reputation of leading global companies, and enforcing and extracting value from their intellectual property assets.

Seasonal Clerkships 2011/12

What do we offer?

Seasonal clerks will be given the opportunity to benefit from direct supervision by partners and senior practitioners across a multitude of disciplines including all the specific intellectual property ("IP") regimes, litigation including ADR, IP commercialisation and licensing, contract law, administrative law, competition law, and general commercial law.  During their placement, seasonal clerks will have the opportunity to work as part of a team responsible for protecting, enforcing, and extracting value from intellectual property assets for a diverse range of clients including leading global companies across diverse industries and technologies.

Applications for our 2012/13 Seasonal Clerkship Program will open on Monday 16 July 2012 and close on Sunday 12 August 2012.
