Our Team

Davies Collison Cave Law is fortunate to have recognised leaders in the field of intellectual property commercialisation, such as:

  • Darron Saltzman specialises in intellectual property licensing and protection across all areas of intellectual property, covering trade marks, copyright, patents, designs, plant breeders’ rights and confidential information. His licensing practice covers all fields of technology, with a particular focus on computer software and technology licensing. Darron also provides trade practices advice.
  • Des Ryan is recognised by many as the doyen of the intellectual property profession in Australia. He has been an active consultant to the firm following his retirement from the partnership in 2001. Des received an Order of Australia (AM) in 2001 for his services to intellectual property, the first such award in the intellectual property field.
  • Rodney de Boos is a past President of the Licensing Executives Society Australia New Zealand (LESANZ) and also of the Licensing Executives Society International (LESI), the largest intellectual property association in the world. He is also an awardee of the Gold Medal of LESI, the Society’s highest award. Rodney was also recognised in the International Who’s Who of Patent Lawyers in 2007 published by Who’s Who Legal and is a recommended lawyer in the Cross Border Intellectual Property Handbook 2007-2008 published by the Practical Law Company.
  • John Stonier brings a wealth of experience as BHP’s Director of Developments and Investments, and President of both LESANZ and LESI. He is the recipient of the LESI Gold Medal in recognition of his outstanding contribution to technology transfer and has been Chairman or Member of a number of Federal Government Committees, including the Advisory Committee on Genetics and IP Rights of the Australian Law Reform Commission. John is a previous Chairman of the Industrial Property Advisory Committee.
